Indication of Functionality
Bi color LED blinks every 1 sec to visually confirm operating status. Bleeping of the parking sensor should an object be within 15 feet (depending on the reflectivity of the object).
Operation
• Start mode - first few seconds after activation - self diagnostic
• Search mode - lasts until detection of LIDAR laser beam
• Alert mode - upon detection of laser signal – reflected from own laser sensor or in the unlikely event of other laser based systems using the 904nm frequency in close proximity
Programming
The unit is factory set to alert the user should the laser sensor detect other laser based systems operating on the same 904nm frequency. To prevent interference the unit is designed to switch itself of after 8 seconds and then reboot 60 seconds later. If the user requires permanent protection rather than the factory set 8 seconds, the user needs to switch this function on.
Testing the System
The system performs a self test on power up. Thereafter the unit will pulse green every second to show correct operation. Should the unit fail at any time you will be notified by a continuous audible tone and red LED. The unit can be tested by placing a piece of paper close to the lens and moving it towards the sensor.
Accessories
Additional Laser Sensor heads. The unit is supplied with one laser sensor but the junction box can accommodate an additional laser sensor. Please note the detection distance can vary from 0 – 15 feet and depends on the reflective properties of the object immediately in front of the vehicle. The more reflective (e.g. brighter colors), the further the detection distance. The system must not be relied upon entirely when parking your vehicle as there can be no substitute for good judgement.
Use Extreme Caution
The Laser Sensor emits invisible laser radiation which may be harmful to the human eye. Please take particular caution when fitting the unit. Under no circumstances should you look directly at the device while the unit is switched on or connected to a live power supply.
